After emailing system, in 1999, the booming era of blogging started when an active user published a ‘LiveJournal’ on a site. With this, more blogging platforms came into existence, such as the ‘Blogger’ by Pyra Labs, which Google later purchased.

Further, in 2002, LinkedIn became the first social media platform for career-oriented individuals. LinkedIn has more than 800 million active users worldwide based on its global reach. Followed by this, Myspace also became the most visited social platform ever in 2006.
